Obiettivi formativi
Durante il corso saranno presentate le metodologie necessarie per affrontare i temi di Storia dell'Arte: dall'analisi delle tecniche al rapporto dell'artista con la società del suo tempo e con il committente; dall'inserimento delle opere nel momento storico al quale appartengono, alla lettura delle fonti e a quella strettamente stilistica. Questo al fine di prepare lo studente, acquisito un metodo di lavoro, ad affrontare questa disciplina.
The course will present the methodologies required to address issues of art history : an analysis of the techniques the artist's relationship with the society of his time and with the client ; the inclusion of the works in the historical moment to which they belong , the reading of the sources and the strictly stylistic . This is to prepare the student , acquired a working method , to deal with this discipline.

Modalità di insegnamento
L'insegnamento è della durata di 36 ore complessive (pari a 6 crediti) e le lezioni si svolgono in aula con il costante supporto della proiezione di immagini volte ad illustrare visivamente i temi trattati.
Teaching is lasting 36 hours in total (equivalent to 6 credits ) and the lessons take place in the classroom with the constant support of the projection of images designed to visually illustrate the topics .

Modalità di verifica dell'apprendimento
L'esame, orale, prevede un colloquio con lo studente sui temi trattati e il riconoscimento delle immagini presentate durante l'insegnamento o presenti nella bibliografia suggerita.
The examination , oral , includes an interview with the student about the topics and the recognition of the images presented during the teaching or suggested in the bibliography .

Programma
La prima parte dell'insegnamento si apre con l'analisi di una serie di temi strettamente legati alla disciplina: l'artista e la società del suo tempo, il capobottega e la bottega, l'artista di corte, le tecniche della pittura. Si passerà poi all'analisi della stile Gotico Internazionale che coinvolse tutta l'Europa e che si concluse sugli anni Venti del Quattrocento. Si illustreranno quindi le soluzioni dei maestri fiamminghi che modificarono il panorama figurativo dell'Europa settentrionale penetrando anche in Italia. La seconda parte del corso, più specificatamente monografica, riguarderà la figura e le opere di di Van Eyck di cui Torino conserva due capolavori.
The first part of the course begins with an analysis of a number of issues closely linked to the discipline : the artist and the society of his time , the capobottega and shop, the court artist , painting techniques . It will then move to the analysis of the International Gothic style that involved the whole of Europe and that ended over twenty years of the fifteenth century . It will illustrate the solutions of the Flemish masters who changed the landscape of northern figurative penetrating even in Italy . The second part of the course , more specifically monographic , will cover the figure and work of Van Eyck of which Turin two masterworks .
